Welcome to the 2011/12 teeball season and welcome to Forrestfield Flyers!

Please find attached a copy of our 2011 information leaflet. Some of you will have seen this before (when you registered your child) but there have been some changes – notably in the price of uniforms, additions to the committee, and the addition of another twilight game in February to make up for not having a game on the October long weekend.

FLYERS – Information Leaflet 2011

The 2011/12 season will consist of 15 games with sub-juniors playing at 8.30am, juniors at 9.45am and seniors playing in both 8.30am and 9.45am timeslots. We will be running 3 diamonds this year with the seniors playing on a bigger diamond than we have previously had room for – hence the two time slots. This should work well as (on paper) we seem to have quite a strong senior competition this year – batters will really have to work hard for those home runs on the bigger diamond!

Uniform prices WILL go up once the season starts. Due to the ill health of our previous supplier (who charged us HER cost price) we have had to change suppliers. Unfortunately we now have to pay ‘market price’ for our uniforms which is nearly double. Please keep in mind that we will still only ask you to pay for uniforms at the price the club pays for them, ie we DO NOT make any profit on uniforms. If you don’t yet have your uniform, please contact me asap to organise.

You may notice that we have filled some positions on the committee (Kerry Henshall – Treasurer, Justin Cartwright – Assistant Secretary/Treasurer, and Rhys Bennetts – Chief Umpire). We still have some vacant positions and would love to have our members help us to run the club. We can only make things better for our kids if we all pitch in and help. Speak to a committe member if you are interested or come to our next general meeting on Wednesday 12th October, 7.30pm at the John Reid Oval clubrooms.

We are still hunting for a coach for a senior and junior team. If you are interested in helping out with coaching please contact Jason Bennetts (Head Coach). There are coaching and umpiring clinics coming up soon as well. If you would like to attend one, please contact Jason Bennetts (Coaching) or Rhys Bennetts (Umpiring). Thank you to those people who have already indicated their interest, Jason and/or Rhys will contact you soon regarding course dates – if they haven’t contacted you already.

Forrestfield Flyers wishes every team luck for the season and we hope you all have fun while playing teeball. We want to have a great season so expect everyone to attend training and be at the games on time. We also want every parent to help out – your coach will give you a parent roster – remember that the kids love their parents getting involved in their sport.

State Tryouts are here again, so if you think you’ve got the goods, download the application form fill it out and email it to Dan Nash, our State Coordinator dan_sim@iinet.net.au

*Trial dates are as below. Make sure you arrive early, every body must have a hat, glove, drink and plenty of sunscreen.

Sunday 6th  November 2011 – State team trials 10am – 12pm

Sunday 13th November 2011 – State team trials 10am – 12pm

Sunday 20th November 2011 – State team trials 10am – 12pm

After trials are completed coaches will select there teams and notify all participants by mail.

A big hello to players and parents!   It’s time to get ready for Teeball again and registrations are coming up soon.   Registration details are as follows:    

Saturday 6th August 2011, 10am-2pm at John Reid Oval clubrooms (next to Hartfield Park)  

OR   

Saturday 13th August 2011, 10am-2pm at Hartfield Park    

Fees: $95 for 1 child, $170 for 2 siblings, $75 each for 3 or more siblings.  

Fill out the bottom section of the flyer with your name and contact details then bring it with you to hand in when you register for the 1011-12 season. Each player who registers and pays their fees by 13th August 2011 will go into the draw to win an awesome prize pack!
